Commodore's Cup 21.4.24 - By Donna Lowden

A major yacht race on the CYC calendar "The Commodores Cup" was contested by 7 yachts on Sunday the 21st of April.

Starting near the Marina the yachts sailed out of the channel to marker #9 before heading to yorkeys knob. REO Speedwagon and monkey business were first away with Time Out following. REO Speedwagon and Timeout flew spinnakers and pulled out a lead from the others. A windward beat back from Yorkies to #7 lead marker and then back to the finish at the Marina saw REOSpeedwagon first home for a well earned "line honours".

Time Out crossed second followed by Layaleeta and Monkey Business. 720, our latest CYC edition crossed in 5th place.

On handicap places are as followed:

1st: Time Out 2nd: 710 3rd: Monkey business 4th: Slipstream 5th: Layaleeta 6th: REOspeedwagon Retired: Pixi

Unfortunately, Pixie had to retire from the race.

It was great to see the new CYC yachts Monkey Business and 720 (soon to be renamed) in their first race.
