🌱 99 Problems But a Beach Ain't One! 🌿
Ellis Beach Community Planting Morning
We have brought you a shrubbery! 🌳 you bring yourself, a shovel and a few friends!
We've had our fair share of coastal erosion at Ellis Beach, and now we're getting our hands dirty to help restore and protect our beautiful coastline.
With support from Cairns Regional Council through its coastal recovery and restoration works, we're planting hundreds of native coastal trees, shrubs and groundcovers to help stabilise the foreshore, restore wildlife habitat and improve coastal resilience.
📅 Sunday 22 November | 8:30–11:00 am
📍 Cairns Yacht Club, 30 Captain Cook Highway, Ellis Beach
🌿 What's happening?
We'll kick off at 8:30 am with a short briefing on planting techniques and installing protective measures, followed by a morning of planting.
☕ Morning tea provided at 11 am!
What to bring:
-
Hat, sunscreen, insect repellent and drinking water
-
Gardening gloves and enclosed shoes
-
Planting tools if you have them – trowels, shovels, mattocks and wheelbarrows
No experience necessary. Everyone is welcome!
🌱 Please RSVP so we can plan for numbers and morning tea.
